Lauren Malone is a PhD student in the Department of Anthropology, specializing in archaeology. Through zooarchaeological and biomolecular methods, her research explores the dynamic roles that animal byproducts played on technological innovation, mobility, and social networking strategies of hunter-gatherers in East Africa’s past.
Malone is a Graduate Student Affiliate with WashU’s Program in Public Scholarship, as well as a Laboratory Research Member for the Department of Anthropology’s Laboratory for the Analysis of Early Food-Webs (LAEF) and Zooarchaeology Laboratory.
