Tianmeng Lan (she/they) is a PhD student in Sociocultural Anthropology. She is interested in the queer embodied practices that emerge at the margins of the transnational medical-industrial complex. Informed by medical anthropology, feminist science and technology studies, and queer/trans theory, her project examines the history of trans medicine and the interplay between self-medication, identity formation, and the affective politics of transgender communities in China.
