I am an anthropological archaeologist interested in the origin and eventual abandonment of nucleated Bronze Age settlements in the Eurasian Steppe. My research focuses on the roles of copper metallurgy, pastoralist ecology, and inter-community conflict in urbanization and deurbanization. Methodologically, I specialize in the intersection between field archaeology and geospatial techniques, including satellite image analysis, lidar, environmental modeling, and spatial statistics.
