I’m Anna Wood and I’m a second year PhD student in Sociocultural Anthropology at Washington University in St. Louis. Broadly, my research explores the culture and biopolitics of reproductive and menstrual health. My doctoral research focuses on how health management technologies, including menstrual trackers and wearable devices, recontextualize knowledge production around women’s health. By engaging with medical anthropology, feminist science and technology studies, and reproductive justice frameworks, I seek to understand how these tools impact women & people with uteruses’ wellbeing and life trajectories.
