Food Studies

Food Studies is a multifaceted area of inquiry that is growing nationally and that is of keen interest within the Department of Anthropology.  Faculty in all three subdisciplines of archaeology, sociocultural, and biological anthropology teach and write on food issues, and many students at both the undergraduate and graduate level are involved.

Ongoing food studies research in the department includes:

Indigenous knowledge among "alternative farmers" in the US
