Peter Kasumba is one of several potters Darla Dale interviewed as part of a study of archaeological ceramics from earthwork sites in Uganda. The objective of the interviews was to collect information on ceramic manufacture, especially the clay sources and the addition of inclusions to the clay matrix. This data were then used in a petrographic study of ceramic thin sections from the sites of Munsa, Mubende, and Kibengo, to determine the location of ceramic manufacture. This was part of a larger project directed by Dr. Peter Robertshaw, California State University-San Bernardino.
